I’m the third generation in my family to be a St. Michael’s parishioner! My husband James and I are blessed with two children that are the fourth generation. Over the years I served St. James and the Town of Okotoks as a facilitator for the Rainbows Canada program, and later ran the program to assist kids and even adults to communicate their feelings about grief, divorce, abuse and loss. That prompted me to further my desire to help people by completing a bereavement course shortly after. I have also been a MC for the Christian Women’s Breakfast hosted at St. Michael’s that saw a group of women from different denominations gather together several times per year as one Christian community. It was also my pleasure to be a presenter to many of the kids over the years at Good Shepherd School during Faith Days. Currently, I serve in mass as a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector. After mass, you’ll occasionally find me downstairs at St. Michael’s as part of one of the Coffee Sunday teams. I also help annually distribute the apples for the High River Prolife Fundraiser, as well as, pick up garbage with my family for the Knights of Columbus Highway Cleanup. We also host and organize the Hillbilly Golf Parish Fundraiser which has been an incredibly fun way to gather and raise funds.
What I love about our Catholic faith is how universal it is. I have been on several pilgrimages around the world and even volunteered in Lourdes, France where there are 7 official languages in the sanctuary. I have been able to participate and follow in a Catholic Mass no matter where I have traveled.
My hobbies and personal pursuits consist of numerous activities. I love sports, especially playing basketball. I’m an avid equestrian and currently show jump with 3 horses. Since 2018, I’ve been practicing the martial art of Aikido and I am working toward my 2nd degree black belt. I also enjoy playing the piano.
