Children’s Liturgy is a Catholic program for children based on the weekly Sunday Gospels and takes place during the Liturgy of the Word at Mass on Sunday. This program presents the Catechism of the Catholic Church in age-appropriate, lively and relevant ways. Activities include prayers, songs, games, readings, stories and crafts. Children’s Liturgy is open to all children of the parish aged 3 – 7 years (up to First Communion) and preregistration is not required.
This ministry is always seeking interested persons and is open to student’s grade 9 or higher (with Confirmation). We encourage parents, grandparents and single persons to get involved. This is a great opportunity for parents to instruct while their children are attending the program, and for Youth Leaders to gain valuable experience and service hours. The commitment is one Sunday per month and all lessons, material, training and support are provided. Preparation can be done prior to Mass on Sunday and no experience is required. The program runs from September through to May.
Please contact the Parish Office for further details.
We are required by the Diocese to do our due diligence in screening ministers with high risk ministries. Please note that there are some requirements in order to serve in a ministry:
- Ministers have to complete the Volunteer Information form and the Agreement to Model Code of Conduct from which can be completed at the Parish Office
- Some high-risk ministries which involve working with children or other vulnerable people require a police check.
