Living Nativity Committee would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to all who contributed in any way to the amazing and successful comeback of our Living Nativity in 2023. There were many hours of work and a lot of commitment from more than 100 people to put together this little town of Bethlehem and its villagers that brought the beautiful story of the birth of Jesus to all our parishioners, the congregations of other local churches, our entire community and communities beyond Okotoks and Diamond Valley.
The individuals and groups involved are too numerous to mention so if you played a part THANK YOU!! The event would have no meaningful purpose without the participation of over 1100 people who came to visit so if you came to visit the Living Nativity last Saturday THANK YOU!
We will be announcing the total funds raised for the Magic of Christmas and the Foothills Community Immigrant Services shortly
We will be presenting the Living Nativity on December 7th from 4-8pm. It is a unique opportunity for people to experience the birth of Christ in todays busy times and reflect on the most beautiful gift that God has given us. The Christ Child is the central figure of the Living Nativity. WE are in need of four or five ’holy families’ for this event, Mary, Joseph and a relatively new baby Jesus (under 6 months of age). Each family is asked to spend on hour in the stable in the village of Bethlehem. Families will be provided with costumes and cozy swaddles for the babies. We are also in need of live animals, donkeys and or sheep. The owners would be asked to transport the animals to and from the site and stable hands will help with their card in pens near the stable. Thank you for considering participating in the Living Nativity. Please contact Fr. Vijaya or Arlene Frederick if you are able to serve in one of these roles.
